Hollon has recently introduced a new UL rated 1 hour fireproof home safe, the HS-370E. It fits in the small class, measuring 13-4/7″ x 19″ x 15-3/4″ on the outside, and 8-4/7″ x 14″ x 11-4/5″ on the inside. It features a secure electronic keypad locking mechanism, which can be programmed with a 3-8-digit access code. The keypad can be programmed for 1 master user and 1 user. The HS-370E also features a removable shelf on the inside, and there is 1 anchor bolt hole drilled into the bottom of the safe. The safe comes complete with mounting hardware. Other features include 2 active locking bolts on the opening side and two fixed locking bolts on the hinge side.
The safe achieves its 1 hour UL fireproof rating through composite construction. It is constructed using a solid steel outer layer, a layer of concrete-like fireproofing material, and a solid steel inner layer. This type of construction allows it to pass the tough UL 1 hour fireproof test. This test subjects the safe to an 1850 degree fire for a period of 1 hour (the average wooden house fire is only 950 degrees F). During the test, the temperature inside the safe is measured, and cannot rise above 350 degrees F. This is a safe temperature for your valuable papers and other small valuables. All in all, the HS-370E is a great 1 hour fireproof safe that is available at a very reasonable cost.
